I rescued a little squirrel in Missouri we named Traveler. I let him go when he got old enough to survive on his own, but I wish I never had, I miss him so...
The words here are about my life as the wife of a now retired Soldier. I live on a small ranch in Texas, and my experiences here craft the words I use to express my life. The sacrifices, challenges, and the deeply satisfying rewards of being the wife of such a man influence them as well. I live in a beautiful and peaceful place, and it is great solace and comfort when I face life and the challenges of a complicated and stressed world. So I have titled my writings "From the Ranch."

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M ADOPTED!
Traveler, our baby rescue squirrel is now a young man... I mean young squirrel. He took so well to being a rescue squirrel, in fact, he greatly enjoys living in the four foot by two foot, six feet tall habitat on rolling wheels that I made for him. The times he is allowed to be out and about in the house, (he trained to a liter box in less than an hour,) are his favorite times of the day. So before we knew it, he had sort of lost his own identity. We decided it would be in his best interest to learn that he is adopted. It just didn't go that well.. Maybe we should have told him when he was younger.
