The words here are about my life as the wife of a now retired Soldier. I live on a small ranch in Texas, and my experiences here craft the words I use to express my life. The sacrifices, challenges, and the deeply satisfying rewards of being the wife of such a man influence them as well. I live in a beautiful and peaceful place, and it is great solace and comfort when I face life and the challenges of a complicated and stressed world. So I have titled my writings "From the Ranch."

Women Who Serve
Watch this video and decide what your own responsibility is to those who serve and have served. These two women are speaking about women who have experienced sexual trauma while serving on the battlefield, and that rape was not perpetrated by the enemy, but rather by someone serving beside her. It is about the response of leadership to what happened to them, the injustice they encounter, and why. Think about how many news stories you have ever heard or seen in main stream media that are about a woman being raped while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. This tragedy of war is seldom spoke of, even by it's victims, most of whom never receive justice.
