The words here are about my
life as the wife of a now
retired Soldier. I live on a small ranch in Texas, and my
experiences here craft the
words I use to express my
life. The sacrifices, challenges, and the deeply satisfying rewards of being the wife of such a man influence them as well. I live in a beautiful and peaceful place, and it is great solace and comfort when I face life and the challenges of a complicated and stressed world. So I have titled my writings "From the Ranch."
I found this on the Facebook page of a man I greatly admire. He is no
longer with us, he was assassinated on May 28, 2011. I never met him,
but his widow and children are among the people I love most in this
world. Not only could he be viewed as a lion, but she as a lioness.
This was posted by Yasmin Mogahed on a page of tribute to the great son
of Afghanistan, may he rest in peace. His name is Mohammad Daud Daud.

There is a great lesson in the death of this honorable man... unless we all fiercely fight it, sometimes, evil wins.
